Solange Piaget Knowles est née le 24 juin 1986 à Houston, Texas. Plus connue pour être la petite sœur de Beyoncé Knowles, Solange est avant tout une actrice et une auteur-compositeur-interprète. Avant de sortir son premier album, Solo Star, en 2003, Solange arrive déjà 2 ans avant dans le business de la musique en prêtant sa voix dans l'album 8 Days of Christmas, du groupe Destiny's Child. L'année suivante, elle apparaît en duo dans le deuxième album de Lil Romeo, le premier album solo de Kelly Rowland.
“Binz” features contributions from R&B legend The-Dream as well from as the renowned experimental pop artist Panda Bear of Animal Collective. The song "Didn’t Want to Have to Do It” by Rotary Connection is sampled at the tail-end of the track.
Topically, Solange sings about getting money and living lavishly while breaking the stereotype of black people being poor.
