Dans une interview accordée à Billboard, elle raconte : "J’étais cette fille banale venue d’une petite ville, qui portait des Converse dégueulasses et n’était jamais coiffée. Je crois qu’il ne savait pas trop quoi faire de mon cas. Au début, ils me regardaient comme si j’étais un alien. Du style : Ta musique est bizarre, t’es bizarre, mais on t’aime bien."
“Love Language” is the fifth track on SZA’s sophomore studio album, SOS and is one of the very first ones she worked on for this album, teasing it in September of 2019 then later in march of 2020. This song became a fan favorite amongst SZA’s fanbase.
The song samples SZA’s own 2020 single “Hit Different” featuring Ty Dolla $ign, and it also interpolates Aaliyah’s 1999 single “I Don’t Wanna.” Lyrically the song displays SZA asking for more transparency from her partner, wanting them to give her ways to communicate better and show her love. Sonically the song is mid-tempo with a heavy R&B influence, along with a string solo at the end. Also bringing some good vibes of a non-right relationship.
