Pharrell Williams, ou tout simplement Pharrell, est un auteur-compositeur-interprète, rappeur, producteur et styliste américain, né le 5 avril 1973 à Virginia Beach, Virginie, États-Unis. Avec Chad Hugo, ils forment le duo de production musicale The Neptunes. Il est également le chanteur et le batteur du groupe N.E.R.D qu'il a formé avec Hugo et son ami d'enfance Shay Haley. Son premier single Frontin' est sorti en 2003 et son premier album solo, In My Mind, en 2006.
“Down in Atlanta” is the third collaboration between Travis Scott and Pharell Williams, following Rodeo’s “Flying High” and ASTROWORLD’s “SKELETONS.”
The song was first heard being played at an unknown event on September 14, 2022. It was later previewed, almost in full, by Travis on September 17, 2022, on the first night of “Road To Utopia,” a seven-night residency at the Zouk nightclub in Las Vegas.
Originally scheduled for release on November 2, 2022, it was delayed until November 18.
